7/18/2026, a collaborative meeting was hosted between MHACC (Mental Health Association for Chinese Communities) and YMHArt team. We reached an agreement to establish the partnerships and share respective resources.
7/18/2026, the team was honored to interview Dr. Barbara Fish, an art therapist, certified art therapy supervisor, art-based educator, and researcher. Her work focuses on the use of response art in art therapy, art-based supervision and art-based research.

June 28 – July 1, 2026, the team hosted an art booth (i.e. Youth Mental Health Art Exhibition Series #8) and participated in Youth Organization Showcase & Contest hosted by United Chinese American (UCA).

6/17/2026, Yangminyan was invited by the San Diego River Park Foundation to set up an art booth at the SD River Community Art Day on June 27, 2026.

6/13/2026, Yangminyan and Yangminxing grew into youth mental health leaders certified by the year-long FRONTLINE mentorship program, which was hosted by the BRIDGE Foundation.
Reminder: National Mental Health Awareness Month takes place every May. Founded in 1949 by Mental Health America, the observance aims to educate the public, advocate for better care, reduce stigma, and connect those affected by mental health conditions with vital resources.

12/21/2025, the YMHArt program team launched the Winter 2026 YMHArt Make Youth Live Well Art Contest to raise awareness on youth mental health and call for theme-related artworks. Welcome to participate the contest.

12/10/2025, Yangminyan and Yangminxing were invited to attend the San Diego Foundation Lotus Fund Evening of Culture & Connection. They heard stories of healing and belonging and saw how cultural arts are helping young people build confidence, leadership and well-being.
11/24/2025, Yangminyan was named a 2026 National YoungArts Award Winner in Visual Arts due to her youth mental health-themed portfolio.

10/18/2025, Yangminyan and Yangminxing have been officially accepted into FRONTLINE, The BRIDGE Lab’s year-long mental health and leadership program.

9/24/2025, the program team attended the CCA Club Fair and hosted the Youth Mental Health Art Exhibition Series #5.

7/27/2025, Yangminyan went to attend the mental health workshop at Chinese Community Church, hosted by Pastor Nick and Dr. Natalie Hsieh.

7/26/2025, during 2025 Long Beach Dragon Boat Festival, the three team members (Audrey, Charles and Emily) worked together to distribute the designed flyers to the high school dragon boat teams. The activity received positive feedback and recognition from the youth.

12/7/2024, the program team organized the Winter 2025 Mental Health Workshop at Rancho Peñasquitos Library. We invited the mental health professional Teacher Gu to attended the workshop and she gave many valuable suggestions on the design of youth mental health survey.
8/18/2024, Yangminyan presented the AI Mental Health Project at the 2024 ACA Award Ceremony on behalf of the program team.
8/1/2024, the program team brought back the materials for mental health awareness from County of San Diego Health & Human Services Agency.
